Giriraj Singh Criticizes Rahul Gandhi's Leadership Amid COVID-19 Response
Political Attack on Rahul Gandhi
On March 24, Union Minister Giriraj Singh launched a sharp political critique against opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him as an 'innocent child' and accusing him of spreading confusion during the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking to reporters, Singh remarked that Gandhi behaves like a clueless child, emphasizing that his actions during the pandemic were aimed at creating chaos and inciting the public. He expressed confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the Indian populace fully trusts Modi's governance.
Fuel Prices and Political Accountability
Singh further asserted that India has effectively battled the COVID-19 crisis, noting that fuel prices have remained stable in the country. He pointed out that the Himachal Pradesh government has increased fuel prices and questioned Gandhi's silence on this issue, suggesting that while Gandhi raises concerns elsewhere, he fails to address local price hikes. Singh highlighted that despite rising fuel costs in countries like the USA, Japan, and Germany, India has managed to keep prices steady, showcasing the government's effective management. He concluded that the only challenge facing India is the opposition leader.
Response to Rahul Gandhi's Criticism
Singh's comments followed Gandhi's criticism of Prime Minister Modi's speech in the Lok Sabha regarding the situation in West Asia, where Gandhi accused Modi of not mentioning the USA and claimed he was under the complete control of then-President Donald Trump. While addressing a tribal rights conference in Vadodara, Gandhi remarked that Modi's lengthy speech lacked any mention of the USA, suggesting that Modi is compromised and unable to engage in parliamentary debates.
Concerns Over Agricultural Trade Agreements
Gandhi also expressed concerns that Modi has opened India's agricultural sector to the USA through trade agreements, warning that this could devastate local farmers. He contrasted the small farms in India with the vast agricultural operations in the USA, where machinery dominates over manual labor. Gandhi cautioned that if American products flood the Indian market, it could lead to the ruin of Indian farmers. These remarks came in response to Modi's speech in the Lok Sabha regarding the USA-Israel-Iran conflict.
