Significant Changes in ICC Women's T20I Rankings

A major overhaul has occurred in the ICC Women's T20I Player Rankings just months before the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Two emerging talents have ascended to the top positions following remarkable performances globally.

Australia's Georgia Voll has taken over the number one spot in the T20I batting rankings, surpassing her teammate Beth Mooney. This shift follows Voll's explosive century in the final match of the T20I series against the West Indies, as reported by the ICC.

In that decisive game held in St Vincent, Voll scored 101 runs off just 53 balls, making her the fourth youngest female cricketer to achieve a century in both white-ball formats at the age of 22 years and 230 days. Her stellar performance propelled her eight places up the rankings, marking her first time at the top since January 2024.

New Zealand's captain, Amelia Kerr, has also made headlines with her outstanding contributions, scoring 276 runs and taking five wickets in a recent five-match T20I series against South Africa. This performance allowed her to overtake West Indies' Hayley Matthews for the top position among T20I all-rounders, a spot Matthews had held since October 2023.

Kerr has also climbed three spots to reach 10th in the T20I bowling rankings, while Pakistan's Sadia Iqbal continues to lead as we approach the upcoming T20 World Cup in England and Wales, starting June 12.

Updates in Women's ODI Rankings

In addition to the T20I rankings, there have been notable changes in the ODI rankings during a week filled with international matches. England's Sophie Ecclestone has reclaimed her title as the top bowler in the 50-over format, taking the lead from Australia's Alana King.

Despite not playing last week, Ecclestone regained her position as King lost crucial rating points during the initial matches of Australia's ODI series against the West Indies. King has now dropped to second place, while Matthews has moved up two spots to fourth, and Kerr has advanced to ninth in the ODI bowler rankings.

The only adjustment in the top 10 for ODI batters is Australia's Phoebe Litchfield, who has risen to fifth place. Meanwhile, New Zealand's Maddy Green has made significant progress, climbing four spots to 13th.
