On April 7, 2026, students from the Government College of Teacher Education (GCTE) in Dharamshala made a significant impact at the Red Cross Mela, organized by the District Red Cross Society.
A group of five talented students displayed their artistic skills through an exhibition featuring over 20 paintings and sketches. Their artwork celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, showcasing styles such as Kangra paintings, modern art, religious themes, and detailed sketches. The response was enthusiastic, with eight paintings sold and three additional orders placed by visitors, demonstrating the high regard for the students' creativity.
The event was further enlivened by a performance from GCTE's cultural team, who showcased the traditional Himachali dance, Natti, captivating the audience and enhancing the festive atmosphere.
The stall drew in over 100 visitors, who expressed admiration for the students' creative endeavors and offered warm encouragement. Notable attendees included the Principal of GCTE, the Secretary of the Red Cross Society, the Chairperson of the Red Cross Welfare Society, the ADC of Kangra, the DC of Kangra, and the Divisional Commissioner of Kangra, all of whom praised the artistic and cultural contributions presented.
The event was expertly organized by Prof. Reeta and Dr. Atul Thakur, the nodal officers of the Red Ribbon Club, ensuring a memorable and impactful experience for the institute.
