Gavan Twining Appointed Head Coach of Melbourne Renegades for WBBL Season
New Leadership for the Renegades
The Melbourne Renegades have officially appointed Gavan Twining, who has served as an assistant coach for the Australian women's cricket team, as their head coach for the upcoming Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) season.
Twining transitions to the Renegades after contributing to the Australian women's team's success, including their triumph at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. He will join the Renegades in Melbourne following Australia's series against Bangladesh and New Zealand, before resuming his duties with Cricket Australia after the WBBL concludes.
Coaching Changes
Taking over from Simon Helmot, who departed the Renegades to pursue opportunities with another franchise, Twining steps into a significant role. Clint McKay, the High Performance Manager and a former Australian cricketer, will lead the team during the upcoming Spring Challenge.
