Gautam Gambhir's Prayer at Salasar Balaji Temple

On Wednesday, Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of the Indian men's cricket team, visited the Salasar Balaji temple located in Churu, Rajasthan. During his visit, he offered prayers, expressing hopes for the nation's prosperity. The temple priests' family warmly welcomed Gambhir and facilitated the worship ceremony for Lord Balaji.

Celebrating T20 World Cup Victory

Under Gambhir's guidance, the Indian cricket team clinched victory in the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. This triumph marked a significant achievement as India became the first team to defend the T20 World Cup title successfully, winning it on home soil for the second consecutive time.

Upcoming Matches for the Indian Team

Gautam Gambhir's next challenge as head coach involves an all-format home series against Afghanistan in June, which includes a one-off Test and three ODIs. Following this, the team will compete in two T20Is against Ireland in Belfast before embarking on a much-anticipated tour of England in July. This tour will feature a five-match T20I series, followed by a three-match ODI series.

After the England series, India will travel to Zimbabwe for three T20Is and then return home to host the West Indies for a multi-format series in September and October, which includes three ODIs and five T20Is.

Gambhir's Legacy with KKR and IPL 2026

In the ongoing IPL 2026 season, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), a team Gambhir has significantly influenced, are currently struggling, having not secured a win in their first five matches. They find themselves at the bottom of the IPL 2026 points table.

Gambhir has been a pivotal figure for KKR, leading the team to IPL championships in 2012 and 2014 as captain, and later returning as a mentor to guide them to a third title in 2024. After his successful stint as a mentor, he transitioned to become the head coach of the Indian national team.
