Cricket Community Celebrates Independence Day
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also conveyed its Independence Day wishes to the citizens. They posted on X, "Here's wishing every Indian a very Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind."
Former cricketer Irfan Pathan joined in the celebrations, sharing his greetings on X, saying, "Wishing everyone a very happy Independence Day."
PM Modi's Tribute and Vision for the Future
Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, marking the 80th Independence Day. He also honored the freedom fighters, reflecting on their sacrifices against colonial oppression.
In a message on X, PM Modi highlighted that the aspirations of these freedom fighters continue to motivate the nation as it strives for a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India). He expressed hopes for accelerated growth, stating, "Warm greetings on the occasion of Independence Day. We remember with gratitude the countless freedom fighters whose courage, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment ensured the end of colonial rule.
