Call for Solidarity Among Opposition Parties

Dibrugarh, March 21: Gaurav Gogoi, the president of the APCC, emphasized the need for stronger unity among opposition factions and urged voters in Khowang, along with party members from INC, AJP, CPI, Raijor Dal, and others, to support Lurinjyoti Gogoi.

Gogoi stated, “I encourage all voters and party members to back Lurinjyoti Gogoi for the greater good of the constituency and the state,” while calling on party workers to mobilize and initiate coordinated campaign efforts.

Speaking at Chowkidinghee ground, Gogoi addressed supporters after AJP candidates Lurinjyoti Gogoi and Moinak Patra, alongside Congress candidates Pranati Phukan, Dhruba Jyoti Gogoi, Pranjal Ghatowar, and Bipul Gogoi, submitted their nominations for the upcoming Assembly elections.

He also revealed that the opposition coalition in Assam has been fully solidified following an agreement with Raijor Dal.

“A New Greater Assam can only be achieved if Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is removed from the Chief Minister's position,” he asserted.

Gogoi criticized the current administration for what he termed the monopolization of wealth and land ownership, alleging irregularities in land acquisition by a single individual and their family.

In outlining the alliance's vision, Gogoi asserted that a future government would focus on fair distribution of welfare benefits, ensure timely payments to local contractors, and provide enhanced support to indigenous entrepreneurs in both rural and urban areas of Assam.
