Tragic Incident in Fatehpur Beri

In a shocking incident early Monday morning, a 37-year-old gardener was fatally shot in Fatehpur Beri, South Delhi, over a property gate dispute, according to police reports. The victim, identified as Santlal, sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.


Authorities have apprehended a 19-year-old local real estate agent, Piyush Yadav, on charges of allegedly murdering the elderly gardener. The incident reportedly occurred around 2 AM near a crematorium in Dera village.


An official stated that police responded to reports of loud crying from nearby women, arriving at the scene to find a man who had been shot, lying unconscious close to the cremation ground.


A cartridge was recovered from the crime scene. During the investigation, it was revealed that a heated argument had erupted between the accused and the victim regarding the closure of the property gate. The altercation escalated, leading Piyush to allegedly shoot Santlal before fleeing the scene. Upon interrogation, Piyush confessed to the crime. The body of Santlal has been sent to Safdarjung Hospital for an autopsy.
