Police Crackdown on Absconders in Ganjam District


In a significant move, law enforcement in Ganjam district has taken steps to locate 28 individuals who have evaded court appearances despite numerous summons. On Sunday, police officials affixed public notices to the residences of these absconders.


These individuals have not complied with court orders even after multiple warrants were issued against them. As a result, they have been officially declared absconders, prompting the posting of notices at their homes.


Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Subhendu Kumar Patra, notices were distributed across various police jurisdictions, including Chhatrapur, Bhanjanagar, Purushottampur, and Aska subdivisions.


Among the 28 fugitives, four hail from Bhanjanagar, while two each are from Jagannathprasad, Bela guntha, and Tarasingh police stations. Additionally, five are from Gangpur, three each from Buguda and Polasara, and four from Chhatrapur, with one each from Purushottampur, Rambha, and Khallikote.


Patra warned that if these individuals fail to appear in court promptly, their properties will be seized. He also indicated that similar legal actions will be pursued in the near future.
