Mumbai Police Confirm Extradition of Anmol Bishnoi

Mumbai: Anmol Bishnoi, a notorious gangster implicated in the assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddique, is being sent back to India from the United States, as confirmed by a police official on Tuesday.

Bishnoi is also a suspect in a shooting incident that targeted Bollywood actor Salman Khan's home in April 2024, and he is anticipated to arrive in Delhi on Wednesday.

The Mumbai Police had submitted two requests for his extradition, with the official noting that Bishnoi faces numerous charges across India. The central government will determine which agency will take him into custody first.

Earlier this month, authorities received intel indicating that Bishnoi, who frequently traveled between the US and Canada, had been apprehended in Canada.

Reports suggest he was in possession of a Russian passport obtained through fraudulent means, according to the official.

Zeeshan Siddique, son of the late Baba Siddique, informed a news agency that he received an email stating that Anmol Bishnoi had been 'removed' from the United States. 'This indicates he is no longer in the US and should be extradited to India to face justice for his actions,' the former MLA remarked.

Baba Siddique, a former minister in Maharashtra, was murdered on the night of October 12, 2024, outside his son Zeeshan's office in Bandra. Several individuals linked to the gang led by Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol's elder brother currently incarcerated, have been arrested in connection with Siddique's murder.
