Tragic Incident in Uchauliya Police Area
A distressing case of gang rape has emerged from a village in the Uchauliya police jurisdiction, located in the Terai belt of Uttar Pradesh. Following a complaint lodged by the victim's father, law enforcement has initiated legal proceedings against four young men. The police have commenced an investigation under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
According to the victim's father, his 16-year-old daughter went to the fields on Sunday morning to collect fodder but did not return by noon. Concerned about her absence, the family began searching for her. Later that evening, she was found in a mustard field outside the village, visibly frightened. Upon returning home, she disclosed the traumatic incident to her family.
The young girl reported that while she was gathering fodder, she was forcibly taken to the fields by local youths named Ankit, Ajit, Ajay, and Lala. There, they threatened her and committed the heinous act of gang rape before fleeing the scene, leaving her terrified.
Upon learning of the incident, the family promptly went to the police station to file a report. Station Officer Gopal Narayan Singh confirmed that a case has been registered based on the complaint, and the victim is undergoing a medical examination.
However, initial police investigations suggest a different narrative. The Station Officer indicated that preliminary findings reveal a prior romantic relationship between the victim and one of the accused. Villagers reportedly saw them in a compromising situation, which may have led the girl to hide in the fields out of fear.
Authorities have stated that the case is sensitive due to the involvement of a minor, and a thorough investigation is underway. Future actions will be determined based on the medical report, the victim's statements, and other evidence.
Tensions have escalated in the village following the incident. The victim's family is demanding the arrest of the accused, while police maintain that the truth will be revealed once the investigation is complete, guiding subsequent actions.
