Challenges Faced by Local Farmers and Machine Operators

In Gaggal, both farmers and machinery operators are encountering significant challenges as local petrol pump staff have stopped dispensing diesel in bottles, cans, or any other containers, citing strict directives from management.

One JCB operator, who has two machines with monthly payments of ₹55,000 and ₹75,000, expressed frustration after being turned away without fuel. He questioned, “How can I manage my payments if my machines are not operational?” emphasizing the financial burden imposed by this limitation.

The situation has severely impacted farmers, especially during this critical agricultural period. With tractors and other essential equipment needing diesel, many are now forced to drive their small tractors directly to the petrol station, leading to unnecessary waste of both time and fuel.

Residents in the area are calling on local authorities to step in and devise a feasible solution that meets regulatory requirements while accommodating the needs of farmers and machinery operators. They highlighted the importance of ensuring that agricultural and construction activities are not hindered by inflexible regulations and are seeking prompt action.
