Bhullar's Strong Performance

Gaganjeet Bhullar, who has secured 11 victories on the Asian Tour and four titles in the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL), is now in the running for his first International Series title. He recorded a score of 3-under 68, adding to his initial round of 67, which places him in a tie for third position, according to a recent announcement.

Indian Competitors and Cut Results

Among the Indian players, only two managed to make the cut alongside Bhullar. Pukhraj Gill finished with scores of 71 and 70, landing in T-38, while Karandeep Kochhar had scores of 71 in both rounds. Unfortunately, eight other players, including Ajeetesh Sandhu, Shaurya Bhattacharya, Rashid Khan, Shiv Kapur, Sachin Baisoya, SSP Chawrasia, and Shubham Jaglan, did not make the cut. Additionally, Jeev Milkha Singh withdrew from the tournament due to an injury.

Bhullar's Round Highlights

Bhullar's performance included two birdies in the final three holes. He played 31 consecutive holes without a bogey—18 in the first round and 13 in the second—before encountering back-to-back bogeys on the 14th and 15th holes. He rebounded with birdies on the 16th and 18th, finishing with a total score of 10-under, just three strokes behind the leader, Jeongwoo Ham from Korea.

Bhullar's Reflections

Expressing his feelings about the tournament, Bhullar stated, "I haven't participated in many events lately, but it feels great to be on the leaderboard's first page." He added, "Last year, I played well, but the scores didn't reflect that. This week, I plan to stick to my routine and give it my all."

Surprise Leader: Jeongwoo Ham

Korean golfer Jeongwoo Ham has emerged as the unexpected leader at the halfway point of the Singapore Open, held at Sentosa Golf Club. He shot a three-under-par 68 on the challenging Serapong Course, bringing his total to 10-under, which gives him a two-shot advantage over Thailand's Jazz Janewattananond. Jazz, who won on this course in 2019, recorded a score of 66, while Bhullar and Japan's Tomohiro Ishizaka are tied for third, just one stroke behind after both shooting 68s in this fourth event of the Asian Tour season, part of The International Series.

Ham's Journey

Starting the day tied for the lead with Thailand's Ekpharit Wu, Ham maintained his strong performance while Wu struggled, finishing with a score of 75. Despite having only participated in seven Asian Tour events outside Korea, with his best finish being tied for 29th in the International Series Japan two weeks ago, Ham has proven himself on the Korean PGA Tour with four victories.
