Gaganjeet Bhullar Aims for Fourth Win at IGPL's Dubai Debut

Gaganjeet Bhullar's Winning Streak

Gaganjeet Bhullar has achieved victory every time he has participated in the inaugural season of the IGPL. Following his triumphs in Chandigarh, Jaypee Greens, and Ahmedabad, he is now poised to extend his winning streak in Dubai, as announced by the IGPL.

Jeev Milkha Singh Joins IGPL Tour

While renowned players like Shiv Kapur and SSP Chawrasia have previously participated in the IGPL, this week marks the debut of Jeev Milkha Singh, a strong advocate for innovative ideas in golf. Having played numerous times in Dubai for the Desert Classic, Jeev's participation signifies a significant milestone for the young IGPL, bringing a host of Indian golfing legends to the Middle East.

IGPL's International Expansion

"This is a pivotal moment for IGPL as we venture abroad for the first time, introducing a new Indian golf product. We have seen tremendous success at home across nine events, including the Bharath Classic. The IGPL Invitational 2025 UAE, hosted by Shiv Kapur in Dubai, represents a major leap towards globalizing this Tour," stated Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of IGPL.

"The blend of youth, experience, and female participants has been remarkable. The success of Pranavi Urs in IGPL Mumbai demonstrated the importance of creating a platform for women to compete and enhance their skills alongside top male professionals," he added.

"The next milestone will be when young talents like Kartik Singh, Veer Ganapathy, and Raghav Chugh secure one of the IGPL trophies. They have come close, and now it's time to seal the deal," he noted.

Shiv Kapur's Dual Role

Shiv Kapur, who will play both as a competitor and host this week, remarked, "This event has been in the works for a long time, and we have the best of the best in the IGPL family."

Gaganjeet Bhullar's Love for Dubai

Gaganjeet Bhullar, who previously won a team silver medal at the Asian Games in 2006 before turning professional, expressed, "I enjoy playing in Dubai. It's fantastic to have an Indian event here. Indian golf is truly progressing."

Star-Studded Lineup in Dubai

The IGPL makes its international debut featuring icons such as Jeev Milkha Singh, a multiple winner on the DP World Tour, Bhullar, an 11-time Asian Tour champion, Chawrasia, a six-time Asian Tour winner, and Kapur, a former Asian Games gold medalist. Other notable past winners include Gaurav Ghei, Harmeet Kahlon, C Muniyappa, and Chiragh Kumar, along with Asian Development Tour champions like Karandeep Kochhar and Sujjan Singh, who is now a respected coach in Dubai, and Olympian Udayan Mane.

Women Pros and International Competitors

The event gains additional star power with the participation of three Indian women—Pranavi Urs, Avani Prashanth, and Hitaashee Bakshi—who have secured their spots on the Ladies European Tour for 2026. Other prominent female golfers include Vani Kapoor, Amandeep Drall, Ridhima Dilawari, and Jasmine Shekar.

The field also features UAE pro Ahmad Skak, along with two UAE amateurs, Sabiq Baji and Rayan Ahmed, and South African amateur Kaiden Chetty.

Highlights and Standings of the Season

So far, the IGPL Tour has hosted nine events, including the Bharath Classic at Kensville, Ahmedabad, co-sanctioned by IGPL and the Asian Tour. This week, all eight Indian winners are competing, including the groundbreaking Pranavi Urs, who became the first woman to win in a mixed field of male and female professionals at IGPL Mumbai.

Order of Merit Competition Intensifies

Despite participating in only three events compared to nine by many others, Bhullar ranks third on the Order of Merit with earnings of Rs. 67,50,000 from three victories. He trails leader Aman Raj (Rs. 75,13,421) and Sachin Baisoya (Rs. 73,46,182) by narrow margins. Close behind Bhullar is the powerful Pukhraj Singh Gill with Rs. 66,45,352, followed by rookie Kartik Singh, who has earned Rs. 54,22,657.

Interestingly, among the Top-4, only Baisoya has yet to win, but he remains optimistic, stating, "It’s just a matter of time. The key is maintaining consistency in your game."

While Bhullar has secured three wins, Aman Raj has two victories, and Pukhraj has one. Another male winner, Kapil Kumar from Pune, is also competing in Dubai.

The field consists of 48 professionals, including nine women and eight amateurs.
