G7 Calls for Restraint Between India and Pakistan Amid Rising Tensions

G7 Urges Dialogue for Peace
New Delhi: On Saturday, the Group of Seven (G7) nations called upon India and Pakistan to maintain maximum restraint and emphasized the need for immediate dialogue to de-escalate their ongoing military tensions.
This appeal from the influential coalition comes as the military standoff between the two nuclear-capable countries intensifies.
The G7 expressed its commitment to closely monitor the situation and reiterated its support for a prompt and sustainable diplomatic resolution.
In a formal statement, the foreign ministers of the G7, which includes Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, and the US, along with the High Representative of the European Union, condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, urging both nations to exercise maximum restraint.
They highlighted that any further military escalation could significantly threaten regional stability.
The G7 ministers voiced deep concern for the safety of civilians on both sides and called for immediate de-escalation, encouraging both countries to engage in direct talks aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution.
