Shocking Marriage Scam in Bharatpur

Fraudulent Marriage Scheme Uncovered in Bharatpur, Rajasthan

A disturbing incident of marriage fraud has emerged from Bharatpur district in Rajasthan. A young man was deceived by those arranging his wedding, leaving him in shock. Reports indicate that a gang specializing in fake marriages is operating in Bharatpur. This group managed to swindle the victim out of seven lakh rupees before arranging a marriage with a woman who was not the one he had been shown.

The gang presented one woman to the groom but substituted her with another during the ceremony. The wedding proceeded under the guise of a veil, and as the bride was leaving with the groom, he began to suspect something was amiss. When he lifted the veil, he was stunned to discover that the bride was not the woman he had been shown. After contacting the brokers who arranged the marriage, they arrived at the scene, threw some money at the groom, and took the bride away. The groom then sought help from the police.

According to police reports, this incident is linked to the Khoh police station area. On February 9, Phoolchand Gurjar, a resident of Nangal Chaudhary in Haryana, filed a complaint against four individuals for fraudulently arranging a marriage and embezzling seven lakh rupees. In his report, the victim detailed how Vishan Gurjar from Khoh, Kartar Gurjar from Mathura, and Ravi Dhobi from Punjabi Bagh in Delhi had facilitated the marriage with a girl from his village, charging him seven lakh rupees.

While the accused did arrange a marriage, they switched the bride. Instead of the woman initially shown, the groom was married to another woman. As they were returning from the wedding, the groom's suspicions were raised, leading him to lift the bride's veil and realize the deception. The bride's name is Neha, also from Punjabi Bagh in Delhi.

Upon realizing the fraud, the groom contacted the brokers again. They arrived at the scene, where a heated argument ensued. The brokers then tossed some of the money back to Phoolchand and fled with Neha. It was at this point that Phoolchand and the groom understood they had been scammed and reported the incident to the police.

Following an investigation, police arrested all four suspects on February 14 from various locations. Interrogations are ongoing, and authorities believe that more cases of similar nature may emerge as they delve deeper into the suspects' activities.
