Fraudulent Baba Arrested in Aurangabad for Money Scam
Unraveling the Scam
The desire for wealth is universal, and many seek quick and easy ways to achieve it. Unfortunately, this often leads to individuals falling victim to scams. A recent incident in Aurangabad's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar involved a conman who claimed he could summon a rain of money.
The situation came to light when Police Commissioner Praveen Pawar received a tip-off about suspicious activities at a luxury hotel near a petrol station. Reports indicated that these individuals were engaged in superstitious practices and fraud. The police quickly assigned their most trusted team to investigate. Inspector Sambhaji Pawar, known for his quick wit and bravery, led a raid on the hotel early in the morning.
Upon reaching room number 305, the police discovered a man named Vikas Utharwar, who identified himself as a tantric baba. In room 412, his accomplices, Vilas Kohile and Shankar Kajale, were found staying under a reservation made in the name of a Pune resident. Vilas hailed from Jurud village in Vaijapur tehsil, while Shankar was from Chikalthana in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Together, they were orchestrating a scheme that led victims to lose both their dreams and hard-earned money.
The police search revealed a disturbing scene. The table was littered with counterfeit currency, small boxes of vermilion, dried roots, and coconuts. These items were part of the rituals used to deceive unsuspecting individuals. The promise of a magical ritual that would result in a downpour of money was the bait used to lure victims. A senior officer from the investigation team stated, 'These fraudsters created an environment where people were easily convinced to hand over their savings.'
