Arrests Made Following Encounter in Ballia

In a recent incident in Ballia district, Uttar Pradesh, four individuals linked to the murder of a roadway employee's son have been apprehended following a police encounter. On Sunday, Assistant Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Shukla reported that late Saturday night, around 2:45 AM, the police at Ubhav station received a tip-off about some criminals gathering to execute a plan.

Acting on this information, the police team from Ubhav arrived near Chainpur in the police jurisdiction and discovered two four-wheeled vehicles and a motorcycle parked at the location.

Shukla mentioned that during this operation, one of the criminals raised an alarm, alerting others that the police had arrived. The police then instructed the suspects to surrender; however, they opened fire on the police team with the intent to kill.

In the ensuing exchange, four suspects sustained gunshot wounds. According to Shukla, all four were hit in their legs. They were subsequently arrested and transported to a hospital for treatment. The suspects have been identified as Nitish Yadav, Ashish Yadav, Dilip Yadav, and Rahul Verma.

Shukla further noted that Anand Kumar Verma from Dumri village in the Ramapur police area of Mau district managed to escape but was later captured by the police team after a blockade.

During the interrogation of the arrested suspects, it was revealed that they were involved in the shooting death of 25-year-old Ayush Yadav, the son of a roadway employee, which occurred on December 13 in the Belthara Road area of Ubhav police station.

The police had previously arrested six individuals in connection with this case. Shukla added that another suspect, Robin Singh, surrendered at the Mau city police station on Saturday, bringing the total number of arrests in this case to twelve.
