Security Forces Crack Down on Militants in Manipur

Security personnel have successfully detained four individuals linked to various banned militant groups across three districts in Manipur, as reported by local authorities on Wednesday.


One of the militants was captured at the Canchipur supermarket located in the Imphal West district, while another was taken into custody at the Checkon Crossing area in Imphal East district.


The remaining two suspects were apprehended in the Langol Laimanai and Nongada Makha Leikai regions of the same districts, with all arrests occurring on Wednesday.


Earlier this week, on Monday, security forces discovered explosives in the Tronglaobi Maning Gurukhana area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Moirang police station in Bishnupur district.


The operation led to the recovery of an improvised explosive device (IED) equipped with a wireless control relay switch, five batteries, six plastic pouches filled with gunpowder, 12.75 meters of red wire, and two detonators.
