Discovery of Mortar Rounds

In Hisar, Haryana, near the Barwala Chungi area, four live 51mm mortar rounds were found at a scrap dealer's location on Wednesday evening. The police and army personnel quickly arrived at the scene upon receiving the information, causing a significant stir.


A bomb disposal team was dispatched to the site, where they secured the mortars and safely destroyed them around 1:30 PM on Thursday. Following the discovery, military officials contacted the police to gather further details.


The city police are currently investigating the origin of the mortars. City police station chief Amit Kundu stated that they are looking into the matter concerning the explosives, which have since been disposed of.


Scrap Dealer's Alert

Vijay Nayak, a scrap dealer residing in Ambedkar Basti, reported the suspicious items to the city police on Wednesday evening, suspecting they could be explosives. The police promptly arrived at the vacant plot in Development Nagar where the items were located.


Upon inspection, the police were shocked to discover that the items were military mortars. Vikram, the in-charge of the Padav police station, informed his superiors about the situation, leading to the arrival of the bomb disposal team to take control of the mortars.


Destruction of Mortars

The destruction of the mortars commenced early Thursday morning. With the help of a JCB, two pits were dug at a secure location. In the afternoon, the bomb disposal team buried the mortars in these pits and subsequently detonated them. The city police are conducting thorough inquiries with the scrap dealer to determine the source of the mortars.
