Four Arrested for Robbery at Pastry Shop in East Delhi
Robbery Incident in Patparganj
The Delhi Police have apprehended four individuals in connection with the robbery of a 53-year-old pastry shop owner in the Patparganj area of East Delhi. An official provided this information on Monday.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on June 20 when Vinod Kumar Sharma, the owner of a pastry shop in Patparganj, was intercepted by three assailants on a motorcycle near Bansal Sweets.
The robbers threatened him with a knife, assaulted him, and forcibly took his car before fleeing the scene.
The suspects have been identified as Shane Alam alias Majid (25), Prince alias Sunny (18), Himanshu (18), and Tanuj (20), all residents of East Delhi.
Authorities confirmed that the stolen vehicle was located in Haridwar, Uttarakhand.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for East Delhi, Abhishek Dhania, stated that multiple teams were formed to capture the suspects following the incident.
The officer noted that extensive CCTV footage and call data indicated the suspects' activities around the Sanjay Lake Metro Station.
Based on these leads, police conducted a search near the metro premises, during which the four suspects attempted to flee but were apprehended after a brief chase.
The DCP mentioned that during interrogation, the suspects initially tried to mislead the police but eventually confessed to the robbery. They revealed that the stolen car was hidden in Haridwar.
