Former Union Minister Reconnects with Nitish Kumar After Four Years
A Significant Reunion in Patna
On June 27, former Union Minister Ramchandra Prasad Singh met with Nitish Kumar, the leader of the Janata Dal (United) and former Chief Minister of Bihar, in Patna. This meeting marked the end of a lengthy four-year gap since their last encounter. Singh described the meeting as very cordial, reaffirming his long-standing association with Kumar, stating that the Rajya Sabha MP has always been, and will continue to be, his leader.
Positive Reflections on the Meeting
Speaking to the media, Singh expressed his happiness about meeting Nitish Kumar after four years, noting that Kumar appeared to be in excellent health. He also commented on Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, praising his capabilities and emphasizing that Nishant has no personal interests but is focused on ensuring better healthcare services for the people of Bihar.
Political Background and Future Aspirations
Singh took to social media to share his thoughts on the meeting, stating, 'Today, I had the opportunity to meet our leader, the honorable Nitish Babu, former Chief Minister of Bihar and national president of JD(U). The conversation was very friendly.' Once a close associate of Nitish Kumar, Singh had distanced himself from the JD(U) due to political developments in recent years. He previously served as the national president of JD(U) and was also associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. In May 2025, he merged his party, 'Aap Sabki Awaaz,' with Prashant Kishor's 'Jan Suraj Party.'
