Recognition of Armed Forces' Role in Operation Sindoor
In a recent statement, G. Parthasarathi, the former Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan, commended the Indian Armed Forces for their significant role in Operation Sindoor. He lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strategic leadership, asserting that the Pakistani army chief paid a hefty price for his audacity. Speaking about the current army chief of Pakistan, Parthasarathi remarked, "The issue is that Pakistan now has an army chief named Asim Munir. He is a radical who personally believed he could confront India, and thus he had to face the consequences... he was defeated and humiliated."
Impact of Operation Sindoor on Pakistan's Military Dynamics
Parthasarathi noted that the Sharif brothers are entangled in military conflicts during their tenure as Prime Ministers. He expressed that Operation Sindoor would provoke significant introspection within Pakistan. He stated, "The (Pakistani) army is predominantly Punjabi, with minimal representation from Mohajirs, Baloch, Sindhis, or others. Therefore, they are unlikely to participate and will blame the Punjabis. This will create internal strife, particularly on the political front, and we must remain steadfast." He emphasized, "I believe this is a decisive victory."
A Unified Effort by India's Armed Forces
He further stated, "The Prime Minister, Defence Minister, Foreign Minister, and the heads of all three armed forces deserve congratulations, as we deployed the Army, Air Force, and Navy for this operation. Thus, this victory is not just for the military but for all of India's armed forces and the people of India." Operation Sindoor commenced on May 7, targeting multiple terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, following a deadly attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, last month that resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists.
Details from the Joint Press Conference
During a joint press conference held at the National Media Centre on Sunday, senior operational commanders from all three branches of the Indian Armed Forces revealed the key outcomes of Operation Sindoor. In addition to eliminating over 100 terrorists, the operation targeted 11 air bases within Pakistan, significantly impairing their military capabilities. The air, ground, and naval operations were conducted with a focus on minimizing civilian casualties.
