Foreign National Arrested for Illegal Border Crossing in Uttar Pradesh
Significant Arrest at India-Nepal Border
A notable incident has emerged from Maharajganj district in Uttar Pradesh, where security forces apprehended a foreign national attempting to cross the border illegally. The 22nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) executed this operation near border pillar number 516 in the Mainihwa area of the Sonouli police station. Officials reported that the arrest took place during a routine patrol on Saturday.
According to the SSB, the patrol team noticed the suspicious individual heading towards Nepal and attempted to stop him. However, he tried to flee. Quick-thinking SSB personnel pursued him and successfully captured him. During questioning, the arrested individual identified himself as Jordan Brown, a 36-year-old resident of California, USA. When asked for travel documents, he failed to provide a passport, visa, or any other valid identification.
Further investigation revealed that this American citizen had traveled from Bengaluru to the Sonouli border with the intent of entering Nepal illegally. SSB Assistant Commandant Priya Yadav stated that the accused has undergone thorough questioning by the SSB and other security agencies. After the interrogation process is complete, he will be handed over to local police for necessary legal proceedings.
