Five Arrested in the Murder of Communist Party Leader in Hyderabad

Murder Investigation of Communist Leader
On July 15, in Malakpet, Hyderabad, police have apprehended five individuals, including Rajesh, also known as Rajanna, a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist), in connection with the murder of Chandu Rathod, a leader from the Communist Party of India. Rathod was shot while out for a morning walk.
Authorities revealed this information on Saturday. According to the police, Rathod and Rajesh had collaborated to construct approximately 2,000 huts for the impoverished in the outskirts of Hyderabad. In return, Rathod collected ₹1,000 from each of the 1,300 individuals involved, leading to a dispute over the ₹13 lakh collected.
Additionally, Rathod had borrowed ₹12 lakh from a builder, allegedly under duress facilitated by Rajesh through connections with Maoist groups. Rajesh became furious when the money was not repaid.
The police also noted that Rajesh suspected Rathod of having an illicit affair with his wife, which fueled his motive for orchestrating the murder through local criminals in Andhra Pradesh. Identification of the suspects was made through technical analysis and fingerprint evidence.
Law enforcement reported that two suspects were captured on July 18 near Kawali in Andhra Pradesh. During interrogation, they confessed to their involvement in the murder and admitted to participating in various theft and robbery cases within the state. Two additional suspects were arrested early that same day in Warangal district, Telangana.
