Arrests Made in Odisha Job Fraud Case

In Bolangir district of Odisha, five individuals were apprehended on Wednesday for allegedly submitting counterfeit documents to secure positions as Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). This information was confirmed by a police official.


The arrests were made following a complaint lodged by Rajendra Kumar Patnaik, the Superintendent of Post Offices in Bolangir division, which prompted the crime branch to take action.


Patnaik's complaint indicated that 38 candidates had presented fake educational certificates in their applications for GDS recruitment. According to the officer, the investigation revealed that a syndicate was supplying fraudulent certificates to job seekers.


Furthermore, the officer noted that the main suspect, Abhijit Kumar Bhakta, along with 18 other individuals, had already been arrested prior to this incident. With the recent arrests of five individuals from Bolangir and Sonpur districts, the total number of arrests in this case has now reached 23.
