Noida, August 5 - The police from the Beta-2 station in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, have apprehended five individuals accused of robbing approximately ₹1.5 crore worth of gold jewelry and raw silver from an employee and accountant of a jeweler in Delhi at gunpoint. This information was confirmed by a senior police official.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (Third Zone), Ravishankar Nim, stated that on August 2, Ram Prakash Sharma, the accountant for a jeweler in Delhi, filed a complaint at the Beta-2 police station. He reported that while he was traveling to Agra with a companion carrying raw silver and gold jewelry, three unidentified assailants in a car intercepted them near Pari Chowk and robbed them. During the investigation, police discovered that the suspects fled to a forest in Junedpur village, where they met with other accomplices who were waiting for them.

Nim further revealed that during questioning, it was uncovered that Kamalkant is the leader of this gang and had been surveilling the jeweler's shop for several days prior to the robbery. In addition to the stolen silver and gold jewelry, the police recovered the vehicle used in the crime, along with a firearm and ammunition.
