Fit India Launches 'Dawn2Dusk' Movement to Promote Fitness and Environmental Awareness
Introduction to 'Dawn2Dusk'
The Union Sports Ministry's prominent initiative, Fit India, has partnered with Simple Steps Fitness, based in Pune, to kick off 'Dawn2Dusk'. This 64-day national movement is spearheaded by ultra-runner and Fit India ambassador Ashish Kasodekar. The initiative commenced on November 24 at Dong Valley in Arunachal Pradesh, marking the first sunrise in India, and is scheduled to conclude on Republic Day 2026 at Guhar Moti in Gujarat, the last sunset point of the nation, as stated in a press release from SAI Media.
A Vision for a Healthier, Sustainable India
The movement aims to symbolize unity and engage communities while promoting resilience and the vision of a healthier, greener India. It aligns with Fit India's objectives and Mission LiFE's emphasis on sustainable living. Participants are encouraged to adopt fitness as a daily routine while also taking steps towards environmental stewardship.
Enhancing the Fit India Initiative
This collaboration is anticipated to bolster the Fit India mission by integrating fitness into everyday life, promoting tree planting, and raising environmental awareness across the country. It aims to foster stronger community ties through inclusive participation and inspire a culture of health, movement, and mindfulness.
Ashish Kasodekar's Inspiring Journey
Ashish Kasodekar, a Fit India influencer recognized for his Guinness World Record of completing 60 marathons in 60 days and his challenging 555-km La Ultra achievement, is covering various states including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. This initiative follows the success of his 'Low2High' campaign in 2023, which motivated millions to collectively achieve 76 lakh km of physical activity over 76 days.
Goals and Community Involvement
Throughout the 64-day duration, 'Dawn2Dusk' aims to plant 76,000 trees in collaboration with the Grow Tree Foundation. Additionally, it seeks to collectively record 7,60,000 km of running and walking as citizens from across the nation participate from their respective locations.
