Greater Noida, May 7: A significant fire erupted at a residential property in Sector Beta 1 of Greater Noida, triggered by an air conditioner explosion, which caused alarm among local residents. Fortunately, officials confirmed that there were no reported injuries or fatalities.
The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. on Wednesday at the residence of Amit Kumar, specifically at house number E-166. Initial reports indicate that the fire ignited on the first floor and quickly spread throughout the house, leaving little time for the occupants to react.
As the flames rapidly consumed the structure, family members hurried downstairs to escape. The fire escalated swiftly, devastating personal belongings and turning much of the property into ashes.
Local residents promptly attempted to extinguish the flames and alerted the fire department. Firefighters arrived quickly and managed to control the blaze after a thorough operation.
While no injuries were reported, officials noted that the fire inflicted considerable damage, destroying most household items.
This incident follows a tragic fire in Delhi's Vivek Vihar area on May 3, which resulted in nine fatalities.
In that earlier incident, a massive fire broke out in a four-storey residential building around 4 a.m., leading to the deployment of 14 fire engines. Emergency services conducted a comprehensive rescue operation, saving over ten individuals, while nine, including a toddler, tragically lost their lives. The fire was eventually brought under control after nearly two hours of firefighting efforts.
