In the Gauribazar area of Deoria district, a fire broke out in an empty tanker parked at the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) oil depot. This incident was reported by the police on Monday.


The authorities indicated that the fire occurred on Sunday night, likely triggered by a spark from a short circuit in the battery. According to police reports, several empty tankers were parked near the BPCL depot located in Baitalpur, and due to the holiday on Sunday, no petroleum products were loaded into the tankers.


At approximately 8:15 PM, a fire ignited in one of the tankers due to the battery short circuit, which quickly spread to the cabin area.


Firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after being alerted and managed to control the blaze. Officials noted that prompt action prevented a potentially significant disaster.
