Incident at AIIMS Trauma Centre
A fire erupted in an electric transformer at the AIIMS Trauma Centre in Delhi on Thursday, prompting immediate action from emergency services. According to an official from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS), five fire engines were dispatched to the scene to tackle the blaze. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or casualties. DFS chief Atul Garg stated that they received notification of an explosion and fire at the transformer at 3:34 PM. By 3:55 PM, the fire was successfully extinguished, and no injuries were reported.
Last month, the Delhi High Court highlighted the necessity for a sewer line within the AIIMS campus to prevent flooding in the Green Park Extension and surrounding areas. A bench comprising Justices Pratibha M. Singh and Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora was hearing a petition regarding the flooding issue in the area. In an order dated June 18, the court considered arguments from the Delhi Jal Board (DJB), which indicated that the proposed sewer line would not exceed 200 meters in length and would require only 130 meters of land within the AIIMS premises.
