Father Arrested for Allegedly Murdering Pregnant Daughter in Delhi

Tragic Incident in Delhi's Tigri Area

In a shocking incident in the Tigri area of Delhi, a father is accused of murdering his unmarried pregnant daughter due to fears of social stigma. Authorities reported the incident on Friday, revealing that both the father and a relative allegedly involved in the crime have been apprehended.

The police received information about the murder on July 31, leading to the registration of a case concerning the abduction and killing of the 18-year-old girl. Investigations revealed that the young woman became pregnant before marriage, which caused her father to fear societal disgrace.

A senior police official stated that driven by this fear, the father conspired with a relative to take his daughter to the banks of the Chambal River near Basoni in Agra, where they allegedly drowned her. Both suspects have been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing. Despite extensive searches aided by local authorities, the girl's body has not yet been recovered.

According to police, efforts to locate the body are still underway.
