Many of us have fantasized about stumbling upon a treasure chest filled with riches, leading to instant wealth. While this is often just a dream, for one father-son duo in England, it became a reality when they discovered a safe stuck to their magnet.

The Discovery of the Safe

Fifteen-year-old George Tindley and his 52-year-old father, Kevin, reside in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Both share a passion for fishing and have an unusual hobby of magnet fishing, searching for mysterious items in rivers.

Recently, while fishing in the Witham River, they brought along a magnet to see what unique objects they could find. To their surprise, the magnet caught onto something heavy, which turned out to be a safe.

Opening the Safe Reveals a Shocking Surprise

Initially puzzled about how the safe had attached itself to their magnet, curiosity soon took over. They decided to open the safe, which proved to be a challenging task. However, after some effort, they managed to unlock it.

Upon opening the safe, they were astounded to find it filled with cash—approximately AUD 150,000. Along with the money, they discovered a bank card and a certificate, which piqued their interest.

Returning the Safe to Its Owner

After examining the documents, they found the name of the owner, Rob Everett, a businessman. Without hesitation, they decided to return the safe to its rightful owner. They took it to Rob, who was equally shocked to see his safe and the money inside.

Rob explained that the safe had been stolen from his office in 2000, and its whereabouts had been unknown for 22 years. He praised the father and son for their honesty and even offered them jobs at his wealth management company.
