Many of us have fantasized about stumbling upon a treasure chest filled with riches, leading to instant wealth. While this is often just a dream, sometimes it becomes a reality. This was the case for a father-son duo in England, who found a safe magnetically attached to their fishing gear.

The Discovery of the Safe

Fifteen-year-old George Tindley and his 52-year-old father, Kevin, reside in Grantham, Lincolnshire. Both share a passion for fishing and have an unusual hobby of magnet fishing, searching for mysterious items in rivers.

Recently, while fishing in the Witham River, they brought along a magnet to see if they could retrieve anything interesting. To their surprise, the magnet caught onto a heavy object, which turned out to be a safe.

Opening the Safe Reveals a Shocking Surprise

Initially puzzled about how the safe had become attached to their magnet, curiosity soon took over. They decided to open it, although it proved to be a challenging task. After some effort, they managed to unlock the safe.

Upon opening it, they were astounded to find it filled with cash—approximately AUD 150,000. Along with the money, they discovered a bank card and a certificate.

Returning the Safe to Its Owner

After reviewing the documents, they found the name of the owner, Rob Everett, a businessman. The father and son decided to return the safe to its rightful owner. They visited Rob, who was equally shocked to see his safe and the money inside.

Rob explained that the safe had been stolen from his office in 2000, and its whereabouts had been unknown for 22 years. He praised the duo for their honesty and even offered them jobs at his wealth management company.
