Father Abandons Family After Seeing Newborn's Face in Rwanda
A Shocking Reaction to a Newborn's Appearance
The arrival of a new baby typically brings joy to a family, but in Rwanda, a father reacted quite differently. Upon seeing his newborn's face, he claimed the child was not his but rather an alien's, and he left his wife and child behind. He even described the baby as a manifestation of evil and urged his wife to harm the infant. However, a mother's love prevailed, and she refused to follow through with his request.
The Mother's Determination
The mother, identified as Bazeneja Liberta, gave birth to a child reportedly suffering from a rare syndrome. The father's fear of the child's unusual appearance led him to reject the baby entirely. He insisted that the child was not his and demanded that his wife take drastic measures. When she refused, he stormed out, abandoning both her and the child.
Despite her husband's departure, Liberta remained resolute. She began fundraising to seek medical treatment for her child, starting with a visit to a doctor. Unfortunately, the medical professionals were unable to provide a clear diagnosis, suggesting that the child's condition was distinct from known syndromes like Prader-Willi. The baby's head appeared unusually large and triangular.
Community Support and Hope
Liberta shared her story on social media, which quickly gained traction and attracted support from the community. A fundraising page was established to help cover the child's medical expenses, and donations began pouring in. She hopes to secure treatment abroad, believing that her child will recover soon. So far, approximately 5.8 million rupees have been raised to assist with the child's care.
The public has praised Liberta for her strength and determination. One supporter remarked on her resilience, expressing hope for a miracle that would restore her child's health. Reports indicate that everything was normal during the pregnancy, and the doctors were equally shocked by the baby's appearance at birth. The father's abandonment of his family upon seeing the child is viewed as a deeply troubling reaction.
