Farooq Abdullah's Call for Support

On Friday, Farooq Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, reached out to the public for support, acknowledging that the party has not achieved significant milestones for the people over the past year. Speaking on the occasion of the 120th birth anniversary of Sheikh Abdullah, the founder of the party, he stated that while the National Conference government has not delivered much in the last year, there are still four years left for development, urging the public to strengthen their support for the party.


Tribute to Sheikh Abdullah

Sheikh Abdullah was a pivotal figure in Jammu and Kashmir's political landscape. Farooq Abdullah, along with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, paid their respects at Sheikh Abdullah's final resting place located in Hazratbal's Naseem Bagh. Meanwhile, on Thursday, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced the renaming of the SRO-43 scheme to the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS). He mentioned that orders have been issued for the Kashmir region under this scheme, and so far, 60 appointment letters have been distributed.


Details of the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme

In discussions with journalists, Chief Minister Abdullah assured that under the RAS, if a government employee passes away during their service, a family member will be granted a government job. He further elaborated that a similar program was held in Jammu as well.


Revised Scheme Name and Assurance

Abdullah clarified that the scheme, previously known as SRO-43, is now referred to as the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS). The government guarantees that, God forbid, if an employee dies during their service, a family member will receive a government job. Orders have been prepared for the Kashmir region, and 60 appointment letters have already been distributed. A similar event took place in Jammu the previous day.
