A one-day awareness camp for farmers took place on Thursday in the Bharmour subdivision, focusing on the Tribal Sub-Plan. This initiative was supported by the Plant Genetic Resources Division from New Delhi and the local Agriculture Department.


The camp provided farmers with essential information regarding the conservation and protection of plant genetic resources, also known as plant germplasm, to ensure their availability for future generations.


Experts from the National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR) attended the event, including Dr. Vishnu Goyal, Principal Scientist; Dr. Subhash Chander, Senior Scientist; and Mr. Chaman Singh, Chief Finance & Accounts Officer. Additionally, Dr. Manohar Lal represented the Horticulture Department of Bharmour, while the Agriculture Department was represented by Dr. Naveen, Dr. Vishal, and Shyam, who provided valuable insights to the farmers.


Over 100 farmers participated in the camp, gaining valuable knowledge from the awareness program.
