Family Remembers Raja Raghuvanshi with Puja at Honeymoon Tragedy Site
A Heartfelt Tribute at the Scene of the Crime
Sohra, July 26: The relatives of Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore businessman tragically murdered during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, gathered for a poignant puja at the location of the incident on Thursday. The ceremony was held at a secluded parking area close to Weisawdong Falls, the site of the crime.
Family members, including Raja's elder brother Vipin Raghuvanshi, traveled to the Northeastern state to pay their respects and seek closure following the shocking event that sparked national outrage.
"We felt it was essential to come to the place where our Raja took his last breath. No family should endure such a tragedy, but this was necessary for us," Vipin expressed, visibly moved after the rituals.
Raja and his wife Sonam went missing on May 23 during what was meant to be their honeymoon. Ten days later, authorities discovered his decomposed body in a 30-foot gorge, showing signs of multiple machete wounds.
Police investigations indicated that Raja was allegedly murdered by three men from Indore, reportedly at the instigation of his wife. It was revealed that Sonam had been involved with a man named Raj Kushwaha and had been planning the murder for several months.
The assailants lured Raja to the isolated area under the guise of sightseeing before brutally attacking him with two machetes, one of which was later found in the forest.
Sonam fled the scene but later surrendered to authorities in Uttar Pradesh. Currently, all five suspects, including Sonam and Raj, are in judicial custody.
"We demand justice without delay. Those responsible for our Raja's death must face the consequences," his brother stated.
