False Emergency Landing Video Causes Panic at Jabalpur Railway Station
Panic Erupts Over Viral Video
A video claiming to show an emergency landing of a passenger aircraft at Jabalpur Railway Station has gone viral on social media, causing a brief panic. However, officials dismissed the footage on Friday, labeling it as a fake video generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
In response to the video's circulation, authorities at Dumna Airport convened a security meeting as a precautionary measure.
Airport Authority Responds
The Airports Authority of India (AAI), which manages the airport, described the video as misleading and AI-generated. R. R. Pandey, the director of Jabalpur Airport, informed a news agency that a security meeting was promptly called, involving airport management, personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), and police officials.
Pandey firmly stated that there was no incident and that the video was entirely fabricated using AI technology.
Concerns Over Misinformation
He expressed concern that such videos can instill fear and confusion within the community. Senior police officials have also been informed about the video, and actions will be taken against those responsible for its creation.
Raj Kumar Khatik, the officer in charge of Khamaria police station, mentioned that no formal complaint has been received yet, but the police will act according to the law upon receiving one.
Motivation Behind the Video
Khatik suggested that the video was likely shared on social media to gain likes and views. The approximately 14-second clip shows a passenger aircraft allegedly parked near the railway tracks, with a young man claiming that an emergency landing occurred at Jabalpur Railway Station.
