Fake Baba's Shocking Rituals in Mumbai Park Spark Outrage

Mumbai News: The Malad East area of Mumbai has recently become a hub of fear and curiosity due to the actions of a 37-year-old man named Ridham Panchal. He claimed to possess divine powers, and his activities have raised alarms among local authorities, especially following the recent Ashok Kharat case from Nashik. Panchal asserted that every Sunday and Thursday, a goddess would enter his body.

For the past two years, he has been conducting Aghori rituals under the pretense of alleviating people's suffering and banishing evil spirits. Shockingly, these activities were not held in secret but took place openly in a public park managed by the municipal corporation.

On April 4, this fraud crossed all limits by performing a public display of magic in front of hundreds. This spectacle began at 6 PM and continued until 6 AM the following day.

Strange Demands and Frightening Materials

Under the guise of providing solutions to problems, this fake baba demanded items that would send chills down anyone's spine. He instructed his followers to bring goat livers, ashes from cremation grounds, bottles of alcohol, cigarettes, lemons, old shoes, black and red cloth, saffron, and other ritualistic items. Furthermore, he coerced people into placing these items at busy intersections, creating an atmosphere of negativity and fear throughout the area.

Local Residents' Outrage

Educated members of the community had been troubled by such Aghori practices for some time. When the situation escalated, around 65 to 70 residents united to protest. They not only voiced their concerns but also gathered solid evidence against Panchal. Locals captured videos and photographs of him and submitted them to the Dindoshi police. Following public pressure and demands for action under the Superstition and Black Magic Prevention Act, the police swiftly arrested Ridham Panchal.

Defendant's Defense and Police Challenge

Even after his arrest, Ridham Panchal showed no signs of remorse. He dismissed all allegations against him, claiming he was merely engaged in public service and worship, and insisted he did not charge anyone for his services. However, the video evidence in the possession of the police tells a different story. In a metropolis like Mumbai, where literacy rates are high, the fact that people fall prey to such superstitions serves as a serious warning for society. The Dindoshi police are now investigating whether there is a larger syndicate behind this fake baba.
