Maoist Camps Raided in Bolangir

Bolangir: Authorities reported the dismantling of two Maoist camps in the Bolangir district of Odisha, along with the seizure of explosives, on Friday.

Following a tip-off, a coordinated operation involving police, the District Voluntary Force (DVF), and the Special Operations Group (SOG) targeted the camps located in the Gandhamardan Hills and the Chhatradandi forest area on Thursday.

According to Himanshu Lal, Inspector General of the Northern Range, the camps were thoroughly destroyed, and a significant quantity of explosives and other materials was recovered.

However, the Maoist operatives managed to escape during the raid.

These camps were reportedly run by members of the Balangir-Bargarh-Mahasamund (BBM) division of the CPI(Maoist), as stated by SP Avilash G.

The dense forest corridor in the region is frequently used by Maoists to traverse between Odisha and Chhattisgarh.

Additionally, booklets containing instructions for creating IEDs were discovered at the sites.
