Imphal, March 25: A late-night blast occurred close to the home of senior Congress figure Toijam Lokendro Singh in the Imphal East district, prompting a joint investigation by police and forensic experts on Wednesday. Fortunately, authorities reported no injuries or fatalities.


Forensic teams and police conducted a thorough examination of the explosion site, gathering samples and assessing damage to the gate and nearby wall.

“I vehemently denounce the explosion at our Congress leader's residence. This alarming event in a civilian area within a high-security zone raises serious concerns about the law and order situation in Imphal,” Singh stated on social media.


He further urged, “The perpetrators must be apprehended swiftly, and the government must prioritize the safety of public leaders and civilians without delay.”
