In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative, the BharatNet project is set to enhance optical fiber connectivity across 303 panchayats in Chamba district. This significant effort aims to provide high-speed and dependable internet access to remote rural regions, thereby improving digital resources for education, healthcare, training, and various online services.

The initiative is poised to create new opportunities for rural youth, allowing them to engage in online education, skill enhancement, digital training, and employment prospects without the need to migrate from their villages.

The expansion project in Chamba will be managed by SNR EDATAS Private Limited, based in Hyderabad, which will handle the implementation and fiber installation. This development is expected to accelerate digital inclusion in the district's remote villages, narrowing the divide between rural and urban areas while equipping youth with advanced technology.

The inauguration ceremony saw participation from senior officials of BSNL, including Dr. Vipin Kumar Maurya (Senior General Manager), Jagatamba Prasad (Deputy General Manager), Pawan Kumar (Chief Accounts Officer), Ram Kishore Kachhap (Additional General Manager, ITI), Rajiv Jagtap (Deputy General Manager), along with advisors Kamal Kumar and Rajesh Sharma.

Representatives from SNR EDATAS Private Limited, including General Manager Sunil Kumar, Project Manager Adil, Brijesh, and other staff members, were also in attendance.
