New Airport Approval in Puri


In a significant development for Puri, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has granted preliminary approval for a new greenfield airport. This initiative is expected to greatly enhance religious tourism, regional growth, and overall connectivity in the area.


According to the ministry's announcement, this airport project represents a crucial step forward for both Puri and the state of Odisha, aligning with the government's goal of improving last-mile air connectivity and making air travel more accessible.


Additionally, the ministry has also approved a greenfield airport in Kota, Rajasthan. This facility is set to support Kota city, recognized as a key educational and industrial center, while addressing the increasing population and economic activities in the Hadoti region.


Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu confirmed the in-principle approval for these airport projects. India continues to be one of the fastest-growing civil aviation markets globally, boasting over 150 operational airports.
