On May 6, a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) was established between India and the UK. Under this agreement, India has slashed the tax on imported beer from 150% to 75%. Consequently, British beer brands are expected to be available at more affordable prices. The Indian beer market is projected to reach around 50,000 crores by 2024, with its popularity likely to grow due to changing lifestyles and social culture. The highest beer consumption in India is seen in southern states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. Additionally, Goa is a major hub for beer due to its relaxed alcohol laws and influx of tourists. Northern cities like Delhi and Chandigarh also show significant beer consumption.
