The Union Minister conducted an inspection of the Jammu railway station to review the current development activities.
This visit is part of the preparations for the eagerly awaited train service to Kashmir.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate two Vande Bharat trains in Katra town on Friday.
Before launching the train service, the PM will visit the Chenab and Anji bridges, which are remarkable engineering feats along the rail route from Katra to Srinagar.
Additionally, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate multiple projects valued at Rs 46,000 crore during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
In the meantime, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have visited the Chenab Bridge to finalize preparations for the Prime Minister's inauguration of the railway bridge on Friday.
Heightened security measures have been implemented ahead of the Prime Minister's visit.
A comprehensive security arrangement, involving the Special Protection Group (SPG), army, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and J&K Police, will ensure the safety of this significant visit.
This visit marks PM Modi's first trip to Jammu and Kashmir following Operation Sindoor.
Security forces are deployed extensively throughout Jammu city and Reasi district, particularly along the railway track from Katra to Baramulla in Kashmir.
All strategic locations along the mountainous route are secured by the army and other security personnel, with CAPFs stationed along the rail track equipped with advanced technology, including drones, sniffer dogs, and night vision devices.
