Exciting Matches Announced for WWE Raw on May 12

Three matches have been confirmed for the upcoming WWE Raw episode, which follows the recent Backlash event. Among the highlights, two former Bullet Club leaders will face off in a singles match on May 12.
AJ Styles is set to battle Finn Balor in a match that was teased during a backstage segment in the latest episode. After the WWE Backlash 2025 match announcement featuring Dominik Mysterio and Penta for the Intercontinental Championship, AJ Styles interrupted the proceedings involving Dominik and his Judgment Day allies.
Styles entered the Judgment Day locker room on WWE Raw, informing Dominik that he too was vying for the IC Title. Dominik suggested that Finn Balor should deal with AJ, referencing their shared history. Initially hesitant, Finn later joked about the situation, ultimately leading to the announcement of their singles match.
WWE Raw: Insane Brawl Breaks Out On May 5 Episode Before Backlash Title Match
During a promo on WWE Raw, Roxanne Perez claimed that IYO SKY's reign at the top of the women's division would be brief. Later that evening, IYO SKY, the WWE Women’s World Champion, faced Roxanne in a non-title match and emerged victorious. However, Roxanne's post-match respect was a facade.
The distraction allowed Giulia to attack IYO from behind, leading to a two-on-one assault as Roxanne joined in. With Rhea Ripley absent due to her tour in Australia, IYO had no one to assist her against the attack.
As a result of the ambush, IYO SKY will compete next week on WWE Raw, teaming up with Rhea Ripley against Roxanne Perez and Giulia in a tag team match. Additionally, Erik and Ivar of The War Raiders will aim to regain momentum in their pursuit of the World Tag Team titles as they take on Julius Creed and Brutus Creed of American Made.
