Evidence Links Pahalgam Attackers to Pakistan
Connections to Pakistan Revealed
Recent findings, including chocolate wrappers, a Pakistani identity card, and satellite phone logs, have established a connection between the attackers of Pahalgam and Pakistan, according to sources. These pieces of evidence were recovered by Indian agencies between July 28 and 29, as highlighted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during his address in the Lok Sabha on July 29.
In his speech, Shah emphasized that the identities of the terrorists were confirmed to be Pakistani. He stated, 'For the first time, we have obtained government-issued Pakistani documents that unequivocally prove the nationality of the Pahalgam attackers.'
Details of the Attackers
Forensic evidence collected during and after Operation Mahadev clearly indicates that all three attackers involved in the Pahalgam incident were Pakistani nationals and senior members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who had been hiding in the Dachigam-Harwan forest area since the day of the attack. Notably, no local Kashmiris were part of the shooting team.
Sources have identified the terrorists as A++ commander Suleiman Shah (codename Faisal Jatt), who was the mastermind and main shooter; A-grade commander Abu Hamza (codename Afghan), the second gunman; and A-grade commander Yasi (codename Jibran), who served as the third gunman and provided rear security.
Evidence of Pakistani Citizenship
To substantiate the connection to Pakistan, security forces recovered Pakistani voter identification cards. Two laminated voter slips issued by the Pakistan Election Commission were found in the pockets of Suleiman Shah and Abu Hamza. The voter numbers correspond to the electoral rolls from Lahore (NA-125) and Gujranwala (NA-79).
Additionally, smart ID chips linked to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) were also discovered. According to sources, a damaged satellite phone contained a microSD card with biometric records (fingerprints, facial samples, family tree) of the three individuals, confirming their Pakistani citizenship and addresses in Changa Manga (Kasur District) and Koiyaan village near Rawalakot in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
