Evacuation Flights for Indian Nationals

New Delhi: Officials have indicated that the inaugural evacuation flight carrying Indian citizens from Iran is expected to land in India during the early hours of Thursday.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Tuesday that arrangements have been made by the Indian Embassy to relocate students from Tehran for their safety.

According to officials, the first flight evacuating Indian nationals from Iran is anticipated to arrive from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, around 2 AM on June 19.

Tehran is currently experiencing intense military actions from Israel, aimed at undermining Iran's nuclear ambitions and missile capabilities.

As part of Operation Rising Lion, Israel has executed several strikes within Iranian territory. Tehran has issued warnings to Israel, and the military conflict has now extended into its sixth day, raising concerns about a broader war.

In its Tuesday statement, the MEA advised other residents who can manage their own transportation to leave the city due to the escalating situation.

Additionally, some Indian nationals have been assisted in exiting Iran via the Armenian border, with the MEA noting that more advisories may follow as the situation evolves.

The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association reported that 110 Indian students from Urmia Medical University, including 90 from the Kashmir Valley, have successfully crossed into Armenia.
