EU Stands with India on Pahalgam Attack Anniversary: A Year of Remembrance
EU Expresses Solidarity with India
London: On Wednesday, the European Union (EU) conveyed its support for the Indian populace as they marked the first anniversary of the tragic terrorist incident in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals on April 22 of the previous year.
In a formal statement representing its 27 member nations, the EU reaffirmed its strong denunciation of terrorism in all its manifestations.
"As we observe the anniversary of the dreadful attack in Pahalgam, the European Union and its member states express their solidarity with the people of India, honoring the memory of the innocent victims who lost their lives a year ago," the statement declared.
"We stand with their families and the Indian authorities in commemorating their legacy. Our condemnation of terrorism, in any form, remains unwavering and cannot be justified," it added.
Additionally, the British High Commission in New Delhi shared a message on social media, paying tribute to the victims and denouncing all forms of terrorism.
The statement read: "Today, we remember the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam that occurred a year ago. We extend our condolences to the victims, and our thoughts are with all those affected.
"The UK denounces terrorism in all its forms and is dedicated to collaborating with partners to ensure peace and security."
The attack, executed by the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), targeted Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, claiming the lives of 26 individuals, primarily tourists from various parts of India.
In response to the attack, India launched a military operation named Operation Sindoor, targeting military and terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
